Cars and Kids

And that's the wonderful thing about family travel:
it provides you with experiences
that will remain locked forever
in the scar tissue of your mind.
~Dave Barry
" Mommy, take this quickly, please. It's too hot!"
Our two kids, especially our son, are so fond of spotting unique cars anywhere they go especially when they are in Bangkok. They know all unique brands such as BMW, Mercedes Benz, Jaguar, etc., particularly the small ones such as Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and Mini-Cooper. In this photo is a sports car, a red Jaguar, he could not leave behind without taking a photo of it. He spotted it in the summer of 2008 (about 2 years  now) along Claymore Hill close to the corner of Orchard Road in Singapore where the Thai Embassy is located. Josh has a wide collection of toy cars, both mechanical and manual, including a set of six limited-edition models of Ferrari race and road cars in Shell's past year's promo. This set taken from Ferrari's bests in 60 years include Enzo, the F430, the 575 Superamerica, the 360 Spider, the F50, and the Ferrari F2001 F1 racecar. Know what? Because I was vacationing at that time when the promo was on, he had to ask me to gas up at Shell even if it was not yet time for me to refill just to get his longed Ferrari model. So I needed to gas up worth of P500 just to avail of one model then we had to add P49 for each car. Sorry I don't have any photo of the set as it's in Pinas but I'm sure almost everyone has seen it. Lately we bought him a pair of remote-controlled copters. Oh man, boys' toys are more expensive!
Both of them got disappointed in Malaysia as they didn't find what they were wishing for. Here, JD poses instead close to the parked car of our Malaysian friend who took us around Kuala Lumpur. Actually she's just a background of the KTM Berhad or Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad(the former Malayan Railway Administration), an old building in KL she wanted to capture, LOL. Thanks to Uncle Murali. We would have not been able to go far and more from one place to another in beautiful KL without his car. For all of us in the family, car is indeed a necessity as we love to travel to see places, to meet people, to learn other cultures and to be close with nature.
Our 10-month old baby enjoys riding and driving cars like this at malls. These were taken two weeks ago (with his cousin, Ate Ritchie) at Central Rama 2, Bangkok.
Here's a gift for my baby from SIL when he was 6 months old. It's a singing elephant tricycle that goes round and round with its blazing lights that fascinate him so he chases it when he is on his walker.
Hubby bought this remote-controlled 4x4 at 50% off for baby but he's still rather too small to manipulate it.
Both our daughter, the eldest (12), and our son (10) wish to drive and travel a lot someday like mom and dad. What about little baby? We'll ask him later, LOL:)
A family that travels together stays together...
C'mon join us! Taken at Dreamworld, Bangkok 3 summers back.

Wish all of you a Happy Weekend ahead.

Your kids like spotting old cars, how classic! Mine can't even spot his own car in the parking lot (lol)

A jaguar is a neat car! :) Not common here in the Phils though.

@Hazel, yes, they know classical cars. And Josh has a good sense of direction even when he was still small. One time we parked at SM Baguio. I could no longer locate where we parked but he could.
Thanks for your visit:)
